That sounds like an interesting approach. I just left a company where contributions were tracked individually and you had to score more pull requests than other developers the more senior you became. During my last review it became clear that the time spent collaborating and talking about the "why" and "how" of building things had worked against me. I should have been gaming the system and not helping my team mates, according to the framework of our reviews. It was refreshing to have a clear signal that the company wanted us to play a never-ending game of Pacman, so that I could find something new where that might not be the case.
