I find that a remarkable number of these points also apply in a completely different domain, which is teaching.

To effectively instruct, first I need to master the thing myself.

Next comes the process of teaching 1 on 1. This helps me understand the limits of my own understanding and also what people do or do not grasp. It reveals where I am clumsy in my explanations and where I have really nailed it.

Once I can effectively pass something to a single person, comes the test of teaching larger groups.
