This reminded me of Cynefin's dispositionality. When dealing with a complex domain, use safe-to-fail experiments to let resilience emerge. I wonder if this is the same approach to dealing with non-ergodic systems, or rather making a non-ergodic system fall under the complex domain.

The precautionary principle holds in survival (non-ergodic) systems. Try not to do anything that will endanger the continuation of the system.
